Why is fiberglass the obvious choice over vinyl when choosing your replacement window. There are many reasons we will discuss a few of them. The first and maybe the most important is fiberglass is 8.5 times the strength of vinyl. Think about it they make fiberglass boats and ladders not vinyl boats and ladders. Why is this important? One reason is fiberglass will not warp like vinyl in the heat, the strength also allows the sash and frames of fiberglass window to be smaller than vinyl giving you more glass and therefore more view. Fiberglass has a 38% longer life expectancy than fiberglass. It reaches AAMA 623-10 certified finish that means it will look better longer. If you grow tired of the color of your fiberglass windows it has a paint able surface. Some other reasons fiberglass is superior 9 times less heat expansion and contraction than vinyl. Fiberglass is non-conductive and non-corrosive. Even among fiberglass windows there is one that stands above the rest Integrity All Ultrex from Marvin Windows and Doors. All Ultrex fiberglass has a patented finishing process that resists fading and cracking, a patented acrylic factory finish up to 3 times thicker than competitive finishes and provides superior resistance to UV degradation. The thin wall construction technologies of Ultrex allow for detailed profiles and component optimization. The bottom line is Integrity All Ultrex windows and doors are the most maintenance-free, hassle-free, worry-free on the market.

Using a fiberglass window does have several advantages. Unlike vinyl, wood, and metal, fiberglass does not warp, crack, rot nor bow. Its high tensile strength resists warping and twisting. Most importantly, fiberglass windows are energy-efficient; thus saving you a lot on your energy bill.

You’re right, Roxie. Look at the after photo of the window! Isn’t it a great viewing area now? The applied window treatment truly provided more glass area – offering a better view and permitting more natural light in. =)

Durability is the best thing that a fiberglass window can provide you with. Oh, let me correct that phrase, fiber glass has 38% longer life expectancy than vinyl. =) Also, it is a cost-efficient alternative for all households because it can withstand strong heat and cold. What I like about fiber glass is its resistance to rotting, corroding, and warping, which is a total nuisance and expensive.

We just installed fiberglass windows in the kitchen! :) Out of the many choices from different window types, we chose fiberglass windows. My sister wanted wood or vinyl windows, but it’s prone to deteriorating, so we settled for a window that has a high resistance against warping and twisting, with sash and frames that will not easily break. So far, we’re happy with the result. =)

You’re right, Jeff. Fiberglass windows are an excellent option, if your home is near the ocean. Other types of window materials eventually corrode when exposed to salt air, whereas fiberglass window don’t even flake or rot.
